Do I need to have my own design drawings?
It's better if you have your own design drawings or sketches because it will help you get started faster. You don't need to be an artist but manufacturers will need to see your garments' seam-to-seam measurements to assess scale and fabric consumption. What many of our clients do is they take a picture of their garment with their smartphone, then edit that image to include measurement lines for each seam. Some clients take images off the internet and edit measurement lines and elements. We'll need a clear image of the front and the back for each garment, straight on. Please make sure you include detailed tech packs with measurements.
Do I need to have patterns?
No, our manufacturers can make patterns for you. Depending on the complexity of your design, we may need you to provide extra details in the form of detailed tech packs.
Are you able to make my samples?
Yes, we can take your drawings from your detailed tech packs, make them into patterns, and then convert those into the samples. This will take around 2-3 weeks, depending on the availability of fabrics and materials. Please have a look at Our Packages page for more information.
How do I receive my samples to make sure they are right?
We will mail them to you for your review. Once you're happy with the results or have added alteration instructions, you'll need to send them back to us. Of course this adds time to the process.
We can mail them to you. To save time and money, most of our clients work with our project managers by sending detailed videos and images. We hold all of our manufacturers to a high standard of production which must be met at all times. We will always use our deep experience in clothing manufacturing to make sure things are right for you.
What if I don't know what fabric I need to use?
That's ok, we can help you select the right fabric and source it for you while providing recommendations along the way. We source locally in Bali, nationally throughout Indonesia, and internationally when necessary.
Which colours should I produce my clothing in?
The choice is endless! Some of the more common choices are Black, Gray, White, Crème, Beige, Brown, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple but there are so many variations in between. Eventually, and as part of your detailed tech packs, we'll need you to choose specific Pantone colour-matching codes. Have a look at the official Pantone Colour Finder tool to get some ideas now.
What is your Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs)?
Clothing Manufacturing Agent Bali doesn't have MOQs, but our manufacturers do. MOQs generally start at around 30 pieces per style per colour and will vary depending on your choice of fabrics, materials, and whether there is a need to dye the fabrics and / or print them. This MOQ is very low in comparison to other manufacturers which makes starting your clothing line or new business with CMAB much easier.
Example: Say you want to produce a v-neck t-shirt and a kimono. And let's say the t-shirts will be made in 3 colours and the kimono made in 2 colours. Then your MOQs would be calculated like this.
Style 1 - t-shirts: 30 pieces (MOQ) x 3 colours = 90 total pieces.
Style 2 - kimono: 30 pieces x 2 colours = 60 total pieces.
How long will it take to produce my clothing?
The timeframe to complete your production depends entirely on the complexity of your garments' style and designs, the length of time it takes for all back and forth communication with you, for your approvals and payments to be given, to complete the samples production and approval process, for the mass production stage and number of total pieces, the completion of all quality control (QC), and finally shipping to your destination. In our experience, productions can take as little as four weeks or as long as six months, it all depends on your specific needs.

Do you work with contracts?
Yes. We always work with contracts to ensure the security of your project and your payments. These contracts highlight our responsibilities and the specifics of your project.

To work with Clothing Manufacturing Agent Bali, there is a one-time upfront agent fee. This does not cover the costs associated with production: patterns, samples, fabrics, materials, mass production, shipping, insurances, taxes, duties, etc.
How much would it cost me to do this on my own?
On top of the fact that you will spend months looking for the right manufacturer - the top ethical manufacturers don't have websites and prefer to stay off the grid as they already work with big brands:
*You'll still need to source the materials and fabrics without a deep relationship to any major suppliers. You'll most likely only ever find retail suppliers who charge up to 50% more for the same materials that we can source at manufacturing suppliers.
*You'll be working in a foreign business environment in a foreign language with foreign business ethics. The stress of doing this in Indonesia can be overwhelming.
*You'll need to factor in your costs for flights, visas, hotels, transport, local phone calls, food, and other direct travel related costs.
*Wouldn't you rather be at home focusing on your marketing and sales while someone else who already has all the contacts and necessary clothing manufacturing skills handles all the ground work for you?
*Can you calculate the time vs value vs opportunity cost of having to do all this on your own which can take months to a year versus letting us do this for you in days?
